I spent 11 years in the Revival Centres church and just like everywhere else I had ever been it showed me that humans create 'us and them'. By always seeing people in terms of worth we will always fail and fall short of the Glory of God.

Perhaps you should utilize your "gift of spiritual discernment" to discern the irony in your opening sentence:

"you’re [sic] reasons are scripturally based but they’re not truth based".

Why I left the Revival Fellowship - you're giving the reasons why you left the fellowship, you're reasons are scripturally based but they're not truth based, if I had time i could answer each and every question that you asked, you asked about thirty questions! The bible answers all of your questions, the burden doesn't lie on the reader of your tirade the burden lies on you! For instance you asked why did god and Jesus conflict on the issue of the cross (you should know) that Jesus was the theos anthropos, you should be able to see his humanity in the fact that he struggled with the cross, i have the gift of spiritual discernment and just by reading your text i can tell that these questions weren't asked with the expectation of answers, you felt that the questions that you asked couldn't be answered. You don't want to carry your cross so therefore you're trying to destroy the faith by asking a lot of questions that you already know the answer to, don't blame the bible for your cowardice, you're a coward not because the bible supposedly contradicts itself but because you're just a coward, the apostle Paul instructed us not to even dignify your questions with an answer because it will turn into an argument. [Removed all caps - Ed]

I still ask if you want to be free to believe what you believe then why do you feel like you have to justify yourself.
As humans we want to justify our lives and make excuses for our actions. The bible helps us to be happy by making smart decisions in life.
If you don't believe then why do you give Christianity power by accusing the people who do believe of being wierd, outcasts, judgemental and discriminative when u also are being discriminative of Christianity.
By caring what others think of what u believe means you are unsure of what you believe or actually do believe and feel unworthy.

To me, these are all discrepancies of translations of different texts over time by different people and cultures...

We as humans continue to percieve and interpret as we see fit. In every form of communication this happens. The Bible is not devoid of human communicaiton flaws as we use and execute what we read and learn from it.

Jaime. Where does the Bible indicate that we "do not follow the old testament" as you suggest?

In the Gospels Jesus specifically states, "Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill"–and–"It is easier for Heaven and Earth to pass away than for the smallest part of the letter of the law to become invalid.” (Matthew 5:17, Luke 16:17 NAB)

Ever wonder why so many different (and opposing) viewpoints can be 'backed-up' by scripture? Especially when the same book claims not to be written by the author of confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33).

Interestingly enough, I did pray for guidance.

Ohhhhhh my goodness.... someone needs to take some time and pray for guidance, knowledge and wisdom! You need to read your Bible in FULL context! Not just bits and pieces. Sometimes standing alone these scriputres may not make sense. You have to understand too that some things may seem like they are contridicting each other, when if fact they are not, and we just can't understand what is meant. It is very importnat that you read your Bible and actually understand whether it is meaning something literal, if it is a parable, or even a metaphor. That was the tricky part for me. You also have to understand that the old testament and the New are VERY different for many reasons, and that is something that you have to grasp. We do not follow the old testament. It is just for the teaching of God.

Jesus commands that you repent of your sin and believe the Gospel. Trust in Christ alone for your salvation. Your dead in your sin and you question all kinds of irrelevant things. The truth is that your sin separates you from God. He is perfectly Holy and cannot look upon sin. You stand dead in your sin; a child of satan; bound by the chains of sin. Nothing you can do will earn you a place in Heaven. Your works are like filthy rags. You have broken God's laws. Have you ever misused God's name? Have you thought about someone out of hate or anger toward them? Then you have committed murder. Have you ever looked at pornography or lusted after a woman? Then you have committed adulterey. You stand guilty before God and He must punish you for your sin! You can't carry the weight of the Law! It's too heavy! God's standard is perfection! Have you always been and still are perfect? Only one was and is. Jesus Christ! He came to this earth, lived a perfect and righteous life you and I could never live. He died terribly on a cross. He was mocked, abused, spit on, beaten, insulted, and cursed at but was silent before His accusers. He died on the cross having bore the full punishment of our sin by God the Father! He was taken down from the cross and buried to fulfill the Scriptures. On the third day He rose from the dead and then appeard to His disciples and then appearing to over five-hundred at one time! All according to the Scriptures! He bids you to come. All who are weary and burdened with their sin. You must repent of your sin and turn from your wicked ways though. Your must give up all that you have to follow Him. The christian life is not easy but Christ is perfect and will strengthen all those who are His. Repent of your sin. Believe in the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

i was in the revival fellowship for 7 years and my mum and dad for 18 years. We had good times and bad ones. they kicked my brother out for nothing like hundreds of others. I was made to get married along with dozens of others for nothing, so if anyone has a case to be angry i do truly i do. But after a time of being lost in what you would call, in the wilderness the real jesus (not the man made revival tongue religious ruler with no forgiveness bloke) came looking for me. And my life has turned around for the good of god. thank you jesus for not giving up on me but at the same time pulling me out of that man made oversight rubbish they call a church. Love you Jesus. glen
